Michigan State Girls Junior Golf Program
This exciting, new seven-week program is designed exclusively for girls, ages 9-17, in the Greater Lansing area. Limited to 50 girls, this program will fill up very quickly due to the special reduced price. The class meets three hours each Thursday afternoon with the first two weeks covering etiquette, safety, rules and all the swing fundamentals for different golf shots. Starting the third week, the students meet for a one-hour clinic and then play on the golf course for the next two hours. This program is a great opportunity for any girl interested in this lifelong game, and will be a fun way to build fundamentals and make new friends through the wonderful game of golf. Discover Golf for Juniors
Discover Golf is The Golf Center's FREE orientation program for the junior golfer. One 60-minute clinic will cover the skills needed for the junior golfer to get started in golf. The core skills of golf will be covered: hold of the club, stance, aim and alignment, putting, chipping, pitching and full swing. This clinic is a great way to introduce juniors to the game of golf. SNAG- Golf Instruction for Juniors ages 4 to 7
Don't miss out on SNAG, a great and innovative way to introduce young juniors to golf!
SNAG contains the basic elements of golf but in a form junior golfers ages 4-7 can enjoy. SNAG falls between miniature golf and regulation golf. SNAG allows the junior golfer to use all the swings in golf. The SNAG ball is slightly smaller than a tennis ball with a maximum distance of 50 yards. There are two clubs, the Roller used for putting and the Launcher used for all other strokes. SNAG is a fun and innovative way to introduce any child to the game for a lifetime- Golf! SNAG is offered in two sessions or juniors can sign up for individual classes. Class ratio is 10 students to 1 instructor.

Junior Golf School
The Junior Golf School is a great way to get juniors involved in golf. Look for our new spring weekend sessions to get your junior ready for a great summer of golf!
Enrollment in the Junior Golf School is suggested after Discover Golf for Juniors.
The Junior Golf School is designed for the junior golfer to refine and review their core skills. Three 60-minute classes will cover the hold of the club, aim and alignment, stance, short game skills and full swings. This is a terrific class for any junior to improve their game.

Junior Development League
The Junior Development League is one of the most popular junior programs in Mid-Michigan. This nine-week league includes instructional clinics before each play date. The Instructional Staff at the Golf Center will conduct clinics designed to enhance the performance of each league member. Clinics will cover basic skills of golf: aim and alignment, stance and hold, short game mechanics and full swing techniques to improve the skills of each participant. In addition, college players from throughout the midwest will be assisting the players each week. Click here to sign up online.
-Due to the popularity of this program, we will have the juniors divided into three different age groups verse two age groups for reduced class sizes.
Each Participant will receive:
-A $30 practice range card which can be used at any time.
-The book "Golf Fore Beginners" by Stephen Ruthenberg, Director of Instruction

-Participants of the league can purchase the Junior Development League Player Pass which allows the league member to play Forest Akers East Golf Course at MSU student rates all season
The Junior Development League will have three sessions, one for ages 9-10, one for ages 11-12, and one for ages 13-18.
Cost: $99.00 for your first child and $79.00 for each additional child in your family. (must be in your family not friends) plus weekly league fee of $10.00 for East Course Dates and $16.00 for the West Course Dates. Most all play dates are scheduled for the East course, unless there is a scheduling conflict.
Ages 11-12 instructional clinic begins at 8:30 a.m. with league play beginning at 9:30 a.m.
Ages 9-10 instructional clinic begins at 9:30 a.m. with league play beginning at 10:30 a.m.
